In a shocking video, a Russian tank smashes a Ukrainian car with a civilian inside

A terrifying video from Kiev has captured the moment when a Russian tank seems to crush a car with a person still inside. Social media users shared videos of the incident and its aftermath. One of the recordings, shared by Ukrainian journalist Alexander Khrebet, was shot from a rooftop in Kyiv’s Obolon neighborhood and captured the moment the tank destroyed the vehicle.

Franak Viaorka, a senior advisor to Belarus legislator and human rights campaigner Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, shared a short video of the tank driving over the automobile. Over 900,000 people have watched the video.

Another video, which has gone viral on social media, shows members of the public attempting to save the citizen trapped inside the car.

It’s unknown whether the man inside suffered any serious injuries.

With over 500,000 views, the video of the rescue attempt has gone viral. People can be seen pounding on the wrecked car with a hammer and attempting to dismantle it. Tank movements in Obolon have fueled fears that Kyiv, Ukraine’s capital, may fall within hours. If necessary, people were told to create Molotov cocktails to “neutralize the occupier,” according to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense’s Twitter feed.
